SUPRAMAX 505-15
Classification: AWS : E50515
Characteristics : This is a basic coated electrode which yields a deposit containing 9% Cr and 1% Mo. Although it is lime fluoride type electrode, its operating characteristics are comparable to those of the corresponding rutile type electrode, smooth well-rippled beads and good slag detachability.
Applications : It is designed for radiographic quality welding in creep resistant steel containing 7 to 10% Cr and 1 % Mo. An important applications of the electrode is for pipline fabrication in the petroleum processing industry where the material has to withstand corrosion by mineral oils at elevated temperature especially so at the cracking installations. The weld metal is resistant to mildly oxidising atmospheres up-to about 700°C.
Creep Strength at 600°C: 7 Kg/mm2
