Characteristics : This electrode is designed for welding MSI 430 type stainless steel and steel of slightly lower or higher chromium contenta.COSMAX 17 Cr is a heavy coated low hydrogen electrode. Weld deposit displays good resistance to corrosion heat, oxidation and scaling upto 900°C.

Applications : COSMAX 17 Cr is designed for welding of AISI430 and equivalent 17% chromium steel. Automobile body, moulding, oil burner parts, equipment in the chemicals and food industries. Typical applications include surfacing of valves, impellers, turbine blades and valve seats

Precautions : Ensure the electrode is dry. In case of moisture pick-up, re-dry the electrodes at 150°C-200°C for one hour.
